Arena Trap is an Ability that may be known by three species of Pokémon.

Description
Prevents a grounded foe from fleeing.

In battleEdit

When a Pokémon with Arena Trap is in battle, opponents cannot flee or switch out. Pokémon that are immune to Ground-type moves (those that are Flying-type, have Levitate, or are affected by Magnet Rise or Telekinesis) are unaffected by this ability. Likewise, if a normally immune Pokémon is made vulnerable to Ground-type moves (is under the effect of Gravity or Smack Down, loses its Levitate ability or Flying-type, is given an Iron Ball), it is affected by this ability.

Having Run Away, holding a Shed Shell, or using Baton Pass/Teleport/U-Turn/Volt Switch allows an affected Pokémon to switch out normally.

Outside of battleEdit

When a Pokémon with Arena Trap is leading the party, the wild Pokémon encounter rate is doubled.
